Prerequisites

Before attending this course, students must have:
  • End user level experience with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML pages.

Course Outline

Module 1: Portal Architecture

This module explains how to plan and manage content structure in a portal.

Module 2: Site Tools

This module explains how to use the site tools provided with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to customize the data presented to the end user.

Module 3: Templates and Themes

This module explains how to create and use site templates and site themes.

Module 4: Master Pages

This module explains how to use master pages and style sheets to change the look and feel of a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site.

Module 5: Forms and Data

This module explains how to handle data sources, data views and forms using SharePoint Designer.

Module 6: Automating Business Processes

This module explains how to use the workflow designer in SharePoint Designer to create workflows to automate business processes.

At Course Completion

After completing this course, students will be able to:
  • Understand the customization tools provided as part of SharePoint.
  • Create customized SharePoint Themes.
  • Create and manage customized SharePoint Site Templates.
  • Understand ASP.NET master pages and how they relate to SharePoint 2007.
  • Understand the SharePoint 2007 CSS stylesheets and how they affect layout.
